Netflix is lining up a new docuseries about the life of Colombian soccer star James Rodríguez.
The series is directed by Simón Brand (Paraíso Travel, Unknown) and produced by Clover Studios, a Medellín-based production company founded this year by Brand, Julio César Gaviria, Laura Franco and Daniel Eilemberg.
According to Netflix, the docuseries will take an “intimate and revealing look” at Rodríguez’s life and professional career, from his time at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to his experience at the 2024 Copa América and the road ahead in the South American qualifiers for the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
The production joins other recent Netflix original docuseries about Latin American soccer players, such as Argentina’s Ángel Di María, produced by Pegsa, and one centred on Brazil’s Vinícius Jr, produced by Conspiração
